Meet Barbara, Our 21*3*10 Angel!!! READ!!!!

This little darling is a Reece's Rainbow Angel, and her name is BARBARA! What in the world is a Reece's Rainbow Angel, you ask?!! Oh, boy, I'm so glad you asked!

Reece's Rainbow is a non-profit ministry that advocates for special needs children (Down Syndrome and other disabilities) around the world. The goal is to raise awareness of the beauty and joy these children bring to this world and raise money for them to find loving, forever families. There are so many families willing to adopt these precious babies, but the costs of an international adoption can be staggering. Many people working together have brought over 200 of these precious children home. Without intervention, most of these children die within the first five years of life. In a new home, these children absolutely thrive for the glory of God.

Gene and I have been endeared to Reece's Rainbow for a couple of years now but have taken a more active role in recent months. Gene and I recognize that not every family has the calling or the ability to adopt, but if we name the Name of Jesus, we all have a responsibility to ask God what He would have us to do in reaching out to the widow, the orphan, the poor, the alien, and the oppressed. This is one of several ways Gene and I choose to reach out.

For only a couple of weeks, Reece's Rainbow is running a special mission program to raise funds for specific children in honor of World Down Syndrome Day. There are SO many beautiful children, but alas, we chose Barbara, in honor of Gene's sister and family. We are asking our friends and family to consider sponsoring Barbara by clicking on her chip-in button (here or on Facebook) and making a donation to her adoption grant. The suggested donation is $21, but there is no right or wrong amount. Every dollar (minus 3% PayPal fees--consider chipping this in, too!) goes directly to her adoption grant fund.

If you have more questions, please let us know, or visit www. reecesrainbow.org and check out the 21*3*10 link. You can literally be a part of saving an angel's life!

Oh.... And, all gifts ARE tax-deductible as allowable by law--an extra benefit!!!

Later, we will share some more exciting opportunities with you!

In Love with Jesus,

Lily

Introduction and Purpose

Hello, Blogging Universe!

I never thought that I would find myself typing on one of these, but alas, I have found that it is a good way to get the word out on not only the highlights of our lives but more importantly to me, the word about some wonderful causes that I champion.

Well, let's start from the beginning, shall we? It seems to work for other writers!

Okay, ..... once upon a time there was a man and a woman, and the little fishies swam like mad trying to find the little eggie..... Ahem, you mean you didn't want me start from the beginning? Okay, okay.... My name is Lily, and I'm married to Gene, and together with our three beautiful daughters--Ireland, Kristin, and LoriAnna, we make up the Irish Angels! So, welcome to our blog.

Among a myriad of eclectic interests, I have a lifelong love of advocating for the fatherless, the widow, and the disenfranchised. Why? Because, in an honest look at the Holy Bible, I see our Lord Jesus spent a great deal of His time and energy relating to such as these. Actually, other than the time He spent alone with His Father, He spent His entire existence on the disenfranchised, because all of us were separated from God through sin and dwelling in the most wretched of all states.

Since I was a little girl, my heartbeat has been James 1:27, "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." (NKJV)* The Scriptures are replete with the Christian command to assist the fatherless, the widows, the poor, the downtrodden, and the oppressed, in whatsoever manner we find it. Jesus was anointed for this very purpose (Luke 4:18 & 19)

None of us is called to save the world, but I am convinced that we are all called to change somebody's world for the better, and we all have our own unique niche in God's plan.

All of that said, I desire to use this blog as a springboard to get the message out about some wonderful organizations and ministries that I am involved with as part of my own unique part of God's masterful plan. I hope that they will serve to inspire you to action, either helping with one of these missions, or finding your own special place in other worthwhile, anointed endeavors, each one doing his or her part cheerfully.

And, from time to time, I'd like to update my family and friends as to the special goings on in the lives of the Irish Angels, too!

So, hopefully, this will be the beginning of a wonderful new channel of communication and fellowship, edification and encouragement, and the ministry that means the most to the heart of our Father--our love for Him, our love for each other, and the love we hold for ourselves, His creative handiwork, fearfully and wonderfully knit together in our mother's womb in His own lovely image.

Yours Because of Jesus,

Lily
