Hello, Blogging Universe!
I never thought that I would find myself typing on one of these, but alas, I have found that it is a good way to get the word out on not only the highlights of our lives but more importantly to me, the word about some wonderful causes that I champion.
Well, let's start from the beginning, shall we? It seems to work for other writers!
Okay, ..... once upon a time there was a man and a woman, and the little fishies swam like mad trying to find the little eggie..... Ahem, you mean you didn't want me start from the beginning? Okay, okay.... My name is Lily, and I'm married to Gene, and together with our three beautiful daughters--Ireland, Kristin, and LoriAnna, we make up the Irish Angels! So, welcome to our blog.
Among a myriad of eclectic interests, I have a lifelong love of advocating for the fatherless, the widow, and the disenfranchised. Why? Because, in an honest look at the Holy Bible, I see our Lord Jesus spent a great deal of His time and energy relating to such as these. Actually, other than the time He spent alone with His Father, He spent His entire existence on the disenfranchised, because all of us were separated from God through sin and dwelling in the most wretched of all states.
Since I was a little girl, my heartbeat has been James 1:27, "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." (NKJV)* The Scriptures are replete with the Christian command to assist the fatherless, the widows, the poor, the downtrodden, and the oppressed, in whatsoever manner we find it. Jesus was anointed for this very purpose (Luke 4:18 & 19)
None of us is called to save the world, but I am convinced that we are all called to change somebody's world for the better, and we all have our own unique niche in God's plan.
All of that said, I desire to use this blog as a springboard to get the message out about some wonderful organizations and ministries that I am involved with as part of my own unique part of God's masterful plan. I hope that they will serve to inspire you to action, either helping with one of these missions, or finding your own special place in other worthwhile, anointed endeavors, each one doing his or her part cheerfully.
And, from time to time, I'd like to update my family and friends as to the special goings on in the lives of the Irish Angels, too!
So, hopefully, this will be the beginning of a wonderful new channel of communication and fellowship, edification and encouragement, and the ministry that means the most to the heart of our Father--our love for Him, our love for each other, and the love we hold for ourselves, His creative handiwork, fearfully and wonderfully knit together in our mother's womb in His own lovely image.
Yours Because of Jesus,
Lily
